Local Hong Kong writing talent rewarded and inspired by Creative Writing Competition

From Player to Page 2023 sets high bar for 2024.

Mission Accomplished! The From Player to Page 2023 competition concluded with an impressive display of skill and determination, with the winners commended and celebrated. Young writers from across Hong Kong gathered at Tencent WeStart office in Kwun Tong for a day of professional writing development, academic career exploration, and the all important  From Player to Page awards ceremony. Prizes, ranging from Steam store credit to the Amazon Scribe, were awarded to all winners in several categories.

Organized by Cicero Group Limited, guests enjoyed engaging activities such as recording their first podcast and participating in AR activities. They also had the opportunity to discuss their academic future with the competition’s partner, Lancaster University.

With 32 participating schools, the competition continues to grow to new heights of popularity. Notably, Tin Ka Ping Secondary School, Homantin Government School, and Creative Secondary School were welcomed back for a third consecutive time. The Po Leung Kuk schools made a significant contribution with exceptionally high-quality submissions, and St. Paul’s Convent School brought a delegation of finalist wordsmiths.

Although the 2023 cycle has ended, preparations are already underway for the From Player to Page 2024 competition! It will feature new creative writing assignment categories and more winners. The competition welcomes both schools and individual students aspiring to become the next generation of Hong Kong writers. Whether participating for the first time or as a recurring author, everyone is welcome! Submissions will open in February 2024.
