We indulged in some Autumn pampering! Here are the super spas, nail salons and balayage hair stylists we recommend for your next beauty treatment in Hong Kong.
Yun Wellness beauty treatment for skin
Hong Kong’s weather plays havoc with my skin, so when I was invited to try Dr Burgener’s Lifting and Firming Collagen Facial at the city’s hottest spa opening, Yun Wellness, I jumped at the chance.
Everything here is carefully curated to ensure a fabulous experience. The facilities are top-notch, and thoughtful touches include a welcome drink and a warm ginger lemon tea in the tranquil relaxation room after your treatment.
This facial promises smoother and firmer skin using Dr Burgener’s Caviation Peeling and ultrasound technologies, which encourage collagen production and allow ingredients to be absorbed deeply into your skin. Each stage of the facial includes blissful neck, shoulder, arm and hand massages. I was so deeply relaxed that it was hard to keep track of all the steps, or even stay awake! The results? Ooh La La Nails salon
This gem of a nail salon is tucked away in an unassuming office block but is bright and clean with comfortable pedi chairs and a separate room for manis. Communicating with nail salon owner Christy is easy over WhatsApp – I’d sent a photo of daughter Sophia’s dream summer vibe nails beforehand.
It was a fairly complicated job requiring a double French tip, however Christy is a true pro and her nail art skills know no bounds (as you can see from the pictures on her salon walls). She specialises in Russian manicure, resulting in a super clean and natural look – importantly, it allows colour to be applied very close to the cuticle.
Christy also used constructive gel to strengthen Sophia’s natural nail plate, creating a subtle curve, perfect for the two layers of colour. Sophia was super happy with the result – and they looked fabulous over six weeks later!

Le Rendez Vous balayage stylist
Vietnamese hairstylist Doan trained and practised in Paris for 15 years before moving to mainland China and then Hong Kong, where he’s been for the past 10 years. So he’s highly skilled with both Asian and Western hair and specialises in French dry cutting and balayage.
After discussing my hair and lifestyle, Doan set to work with the dry cut followed by the balayage. He effortlessly painted the colour on as we chatted away – he’s charming and great company! Wrapped in clingfilm, it was a quick 20 minutes under the heat, before a wash and toner, with a blissful head massage too. I was very happy with the end result – a fab haircut and colour.
Le Rendez Vous also offers a range of beauty, makeup and nail services. While Doan worked on my balayage, I was treated to a beautiful set of summery teal soft gels (single colour, $398). Cut and blow dry, $1,080; balayage, $2,220
