Arrest after man in uniform seen in school toilet

Police said on Saturday that they had made an arrest on suspicion of voyeurism after a man wearing female school uniform was spotted in a restroom cubicle at a girls’ school in Choi Hung on Monday.

The thirty-year-old suspect was picked up in a factory unit in San Po Kong on Friday.

Officers say they searched the unit and the man’s home in Tseung Kwan O, finding items of female clothing and school uniform, though they did not match the clothing described in the incident.

“Based on our preliminary investigation, it appears that on the morning of October 16th, the man disguised himself as a student by wearing a school uniform and entered the campus. He then hid inside a female restroom cubicle,” Assistant District Commander Lau Ka-ho said.

“We have reason to believe that this individual engaged in voyeuristic or clandestine photo-taking inside the cubicle,” he added.

The suspect was held in police custody pending further investigation.
