Video: Watch Highlights From The LED Fire Dragon Dance Featuring An 18-Metre Dragon At Lee Tung Avenue

[Press Release from Lee Tung Avenue]

Yesterday saw the staging of the spectacular “LED Fire Dragon Fiesta” at Lee Tung Avenue. Three years after the previous staging of the event, Lee Tung Avenue worked with Master Kwok Man Lung and his Kwok’s Kung Fu & Dragon Lion Dance Team again to bring the modernised fire dragon dance back to Wan Chai. This year, the team created a flamboyant red dragon measuring 18 metres in length and wired with LED bulbs, to reinterpret the Mid-Autumn tradition.

Master Kwok Man Lung praised Lee Tung Avenue for being one of the best places in Hong Kong to perform the fire dragon dance. He said, “For me and my team, it was a special experience to perform on a 200-metres-long tree-lined pedestrian walkway and interact with the public in proximity. The light-scape created by a sky full of lanterns turned the event into a real spectacle. This evening, I saw many families with children and tourists watching the LED fire dragon dance and I could hear their cheers and support clearly, which was truly encouraging my team and me. I hope our energetic performance also helped invigorate the community and Hong Kong.”.

For years, Lee Tung Avenue has strived to create an enchanting destination for the public to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. This year, the “Moon Fest Lumiere” turns the public space at Lee Tung Avenue into a dreamy light-scape with over 800 auspicious Chinese lanterns. The large-scale installation will continue until 23 October 2023 for the public to share the bliss with their loved ones.
