Performances, cultural events, markets and guided tours along the Wan Chai Harbourfront, Belcher Bay Promenade and Kwun Tong Promenade are part of the government’s “Night Vibes Hong Kong” campaign.
Linn said people were excited and there were long queues at the food stalls on Wan Chai Harbourfront after the power problems were resolved.
“We only had power problems for the first two days. As this was the first time so many cooked food stalls had been set up on the waterfront, our co-organisers weren’t fully aware of the complexity,” she said.
“Our colleagues from the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department worked with the food vendors. The stalls are now running smoothly and the atmosphere is very good.”
To ensure public safety, the Wan Chai Harbourfront night market will be temporarily closed from 5pm on Sunday ahead of the national day fireworks at 9pm. It will reopen at 10:30pm and run until 2am.
