Cosplay, lightsabers to boost HK’s day and night vibes

Chief Executive John Lee on Tuesday said activities planned by district councils in the coming months, including lightsaber and cosplay events, will show the “day and night vibes” of Hong Kong.

“I do believe that different districts will come up with new ideas to invigorate district economies,” Lee said.

“There will be various bazaars, carnivals with different themes, showcasing the different cultures and characteristics of the different districts.”

Lee flagged up plans to decorate Tai Po’s Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree with lights, cosplay and lightsaber events in Sham Shui Po, and Thai boxing and other cultural activities to accompany the Songkran festival in Kowloon City’s “Little Thailand”.

All 18 districts in Hong Kong will launch different activities across the next five months.
