Govt to boost economy, improve livelihoods in 2024: CE

Chief Executive John Lee on Monday said the government’s key goals for 2024 will be to develop the economy and improve people’s livelihoods.

In a video published on his Facebook page, Lee said he is glad his administration achieved last year’s top tasks – leading Hong Kong out of the pandemic and implementing measures announced in his policy address.

The CE said Hong Kong became happier and more dynamic in 2023, and things will further improve this year.

“I believe that as long as all sectors of society work together, Hong Kong in 2024 will be even better than before, and become more dazzling on the international stage.”

Lee said the administration aims to make the city more attractive by promoting its hospitality and organising more diversified activities, adding that Hong Kong will continue to be a “super connector” and “super value adder” for businesses from the mainland and across the world.

He added that he will stay in touch with the people and formulate policies to solve livelihood issues.
