Victoria Park goes big with animals

Arts in the Park, a popular event backed by Standard Chartered, returns to Victoria Park in Causeway Bay on December 2/3 with giant puppets and colorful costumes inspired by humorous musical suite The Carnival of the Animals by French composer Saint-Saens.

The annual youth event will transform Victoria Park with its creatures, exciting performances, classic and contemporary music and creative fun for audiences of all ages.

Along with a parade of giant puppets are 18 interactive art stalls, non-stop stage performances from 70 youth groups, African drum jamming and an exhibition of over 6,000 artworks.

December 3 will also see the Grand Finale Parade, featuring 10 four-meter-tall puppets and 400 young people from 200 local schools and five groups of professional dancers.

This year’s creative work also incorporates a colorful spectrum of artistic styles and cultural elements from around the world by blending new technology and AI software.

The two-day free-of-charge event is on the central grassland from 10am to 5pm on both days.
