New life for cemetery pups

Good Samaritans are still spreading love across Hong Kong after someone found six newborn puppies without their mother in the Junk Bay Chinese Permanent Cemetery in Tseung Kwan O.

A passerby at the cemetery on Saturday afternoon spotted the six newborn puppies cuddling behind a tombstone, with some of them yet to open their eyes.

However, after looking around for the puppies’ mother who was nowhere to be found, the person left behind some drinking water in a plastic container and left. The person then took to Facebook and appealed for volunteers.

Concerns were raised about the safety of the puppies, with some writing: “I hope a volunteer can quickly take the puppies away, I am worried that someone might eat them,” referring to the recent saga where scammers disguised themselves as a dog meat seller online.

Finally, a volunteer went over to the cemetery to rescue all six puppies and take care of them.
