Masked burglar waves goodbye after failed break-in

Police said they are investigating an attempted burglary case in Sai Kung on Thursday, after two intruders were caught on camera trying to break into a house on Nam Wai Road at around 2.30am.

A video, believed to be taken by the female homeowner, showed her shouting at two masked men, who were outside the house trying to break in.

The duo, upon being discovered, fled the premises swiftly. One of them, however, raised his hands and waved goodbye before disappearing from the scene.

No arrests have been made so far, and the homeowner said no belongings were missing even though one of the windows was smashed.

The force said they later found out that a nearby house was also burgled.
