HK sends 98 athletes to Asian Para Games

Hong Kong is sending 98 athletes to compete in 11 events at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou.

The athletes will vie for gold in events, including athletics, badminton, bocce, rowing, shooting, table tennis, and fencing.

John Leung, the vice president of the China Hong Kong Paralympic Commitee, said he hopes that the SAR team will achieve good results at the Games.

“In recent years, Hong Kong athletes with disabilities have received a lot of support from the government to find new blood and cultivate new talents, so that Hong Kong is competitive enough on an international level,” the deputy chef de mission said.

The Games will take place from October 22 to October 28.

In 2018, the Hong Kong team brought home a total of 48 medals, including 11 golds, 16 silvers, and 21 bronzes from the Asian Para Games in Jakarta.
