Youth initiative to step up

Share for Good by New World Development recently launched the “Future Step-Up” program, fully supported by the Chevalier Group and 16 innovative companies to offer support to over 100 youths from small group homes.

The program aims at providing career guidance and diverse internships to ages 14 to 25, current and former residents at small group homes – enabling them to plan for their future at an early stage and break the cycle of intergenerational poverty for upward mobility.

Participants can explore various industries, such as cloud farming, low-carbon tourism, and social media platform promotions, and receive job guidance in line with the latest trends – and understand themselves and their work aptitudes through personalized employment services.

”I extend my best wishes for the program which will benefit young people by broadening their horizons, expanding their outlook, and facilitating them to plan for their future,” said director of the Social Welfare Charmaine Lee Pui-sze.
