The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is making a comeback to Central Harbourfront after five years. This year, the event will take place from October 26-29, and will feature more than 300 booths that will showcase food and wine from around the world.
The four-day festival will put the spotlight on wine, with a focus on emerging wines from Finland and China, which will be on offer for the first time at the event. There will also be classic vintages from France and Italy on offer.
If you’re more of a cocktails person, head to the HK Bar Show, where guest mixologists will serve up special concoctions. Chill E.A.T — Everything About Taste will give more than 200 restaurants a platform for rising culinary stars to curate special menus for the occasion.
Gourmands will get the chance to sample an eclectic assortment of food, from international favourites such as Argentinean barbecue as well as local dishes with a new spin, such as Brown Sugar Pearl Egg Tart. The festival will also feature popular dishes from the Bay Area for the first time.
Visitors can check out the Tasting Theatre, where they can participate in exclusive workshops and watch demonstrations by star chefs and sommeliers. The highlights will be cooking demonstrations led by celebrity chef He Jiangsheng from Shunde and Taiwanese baker Wu Pao-chun.
The festival will herald a month of food celebrations in the form of Taste Around Town, where Hongkongers and visitors to the city can avail exclusive discounts and limited-period menus from more than 300 of the city’s best destinations to eat and drink throughout November. And, of course, visitors can enjoy live jazz performances and classic songs rendered by international bands and local singers throughout the course of the festival.
The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival is part of the government-led Night Vibes Hong Kong campaign to revive the city’s post-sunset economy. The initiative, which began in mid-September and will run until after Lunar New Year 2024, includes the opening of new waterfront night markets across the territory, a revamped Temple Street Night Market, and the return of iconic events such as the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance and fireworks shows for National Day and New Year’s Eve.
